What work does Deepali do in her own house?

Deepali cleans house, washes utensils, cooks food for her brothers and sisters, takes her sisters to school, listens to radio and takes her brother to their father.

Yes, I help my mother in arranging things properly at home. Sometimes, I also chop vegetables.

No, apart from household work, I do not do any other work at home.

Answer:
Yes, we can see a lot of change. Children these days need not work a lot like the earlier days. Most of the women are working these days.

Deepali had to leave school to do household work. Find out if there are any children in your neighbourhood who are over five years and do not go to school.

Yes, there are such children in my neighbourhood who are over five years and do not go to school.

Talk to any two children and find out why they do not go to school.

First Kid (Aayu): As her family is very poor, along with her family members, she too needs to work for a living.
Second Kid (Satya): Satya is an orphan. For a living, he needs to work at the tea stall. He also distributes newspapers in the morning.
