Question 1:
You have 30 rupees with you. Find out how much money will be left after buying the following items: • One ball, one doll and one toy giraffe Total cost _________. Money left _________. • Two bananas, one pack of biscuits and two glasses of lemon juice. Total cost _________. Money left _________. • Three notebooks, two pencils and two erasers. Total cost _________. Money left _________.
Answer:
Total amount of money available = Rs 30.
• One ball, one doll and one toy giraffe
Total cost of one ball, one doll and one toy giraffe = Rs 7 + Rs 8 + Rs 6.5 = Rs 21.5
Total cost = Rs 21.5.
Money left = Rs 30 − Rs 21.5 = Rs 8.5
• Two bananas, one pack of biscuits, and two glasses of lemon juice.
Total cost of two bananas, one pack of biscuit, and two glasses of lemon juice = Rs 3 + Rs 4.5 + Rs 7 = Rs 14.5
Total cost = Rs 14.50
Money left = Rs 30 − Rs 14.50 = Rs 15.50
• Three notebooks, two pencils and two erasers.
Total cost of three notebooks, two pencils and two erasers = Rs 15 + Rs 5 + Rs 2 = Rs 22
Total cost = Rs 22
Money left = Rs 30 − Rs 22 = Rs 8
