Answer:

❉ Sitamma’s family is a joint family comprising her dadadadi, elder chacha, who recently got married, younger chachabuatauji and his three children, mother, father and a sister.
❉ All the people in Sitamma’s family take care of each other. They live with unity and love.
❉ In last one year, Sitamma’s taiji died. Her younger sister now sleeps with Sitamma’s mother and Sitamma gets her ready for school in the morning. Her elder chacha got married and her new chachi came to their house.

Answer:

❉ Tara’s nana takes care of Tara, as her mother works and returns home from office in the evening. Nana plays with Tara, helps her to do homework and feeds her.

❉ Abbu enjoys watching television with the others. Why?
❉ How do the family members enjoy?

Answer:

❉ Sara and Habib and his abbu are there in this family.
❉ Abbu is retired and stays at home most of the time; therefore, he likes watching television with others.
❉ The family members sit together and watch television. They play cards and enjoy with their neighbours’ children who come to their house to play. They also go out to watch plays and movies together.

❉ Which members of Totaram’s family live in the city and which live in the village? Why?

Answer:

❉ Totaram’s family members keep contact with each other through letters.
❉ Totaram lives in the city along with his father, uncle and three cousin brothers. His dada, dadi, mother, chachi and younger brothers and sisters live in the village in their parental house. The male members with growing children live in the city to earn money and build career, whereas the female members and younger children live in the village to take care of the paternal house.
